Breakdown

  • Stellar Blade has been patched and New Game Plus will be available at launch
  • New Game Plus was originally set to be post-launch content
  • The patch also removed that piece of racist graffiti

Stellar Blade will be launching this week and it will do so with New Game Plus, which should get fans of the action RPG excited. New Game Plus was initially announced as post-launch content but that’s only true for reviewers and content creators, which is interesting.

GamesRadar has confirmed that New Game Plus was added in a recent update to the game, ensuring that players will have more fun in their second play through. Like other games with New Game Plus, this means that players can start the game with all of their skills gathered from their first run.

"In New Game+, all your equipment, currency, items and records, character enhancements, drone upgrades, acquired skills, and owned SP that you have gained up until the previously completed game's progress will transfer to the next game," reads the in-game update received from GamesRadar. "However, your game progress will reset and will not carry over."

Like a lot of the best versions of this mode, Stellar Blade will also allow players to tackle Hard Mode right away with all of their skills. Hard Mode can be unlocked after beating the game, so this means that players can keep their skills when taking on much tougher enemies. Fans who want a bigger challenge can do a fresh New Game and can even wear the skimpiest outfit, which is titillating and incredibly difficult.

This update doesn’t just add a new mode, as it also fixes a really problematic element in the game. We previously reported that some of the graffiti in the game accidentally spells something racist, which the devs claim was an accident. Although the art can be seen online, only critics and influences will be able to see the racism in their games.

Now that Stellar Blade has been released to positive reviews, it’s fair to say that this game isn’t just all fanservice, though it still plays a major part. At the least, this RPG can be enjoyed by both normal gamers and those who can play with one hand.

Stellar Blade is coming to PlayStation 5 on April 26, with many hoping it eventually comes to other systems.
