PS5-only hack-and-slash game Stellar Blade could release on PC in the foreseeable future. After launching exclusively on PlayStation 5, developer Shift-Up is already looking at bringing the game to more players.
Shift-Up CFO Jaewoo Ahn confirmed that the studio is “looking at” a PC release, but can’t confirm anything whilst under an exclusivity clause. Translated by VGC, the CFO confirmed the studio’s wish to bring the game to new audiences.
“[We’re] currently looking at a PC version of Stellar Blade, which we believe would be a great way to monetise the IP once again,” Ahn said.
“We are considering a PC version of Stellar Blade,” continued CEO Kim Hyung-Tae. “But we cannot comment on the exact timing or whether or not it will be released due to the contractual relationship.”
Since its release, Stellar Blade has already sold a million units with sales soaring in Japan. While sales have been worse elsewhere, the game has already received New Game Plus additions to add even more costumes and exospines.
Shift-Up is also planning to release DLC for the PS5 game in the future, likely before its would-be PC port. At the time of writing, it’s not known exactly what the DLC plans for the PlayStation exclusive are. However, any future DLC will likely add more costumes.
A Stellar Blade PC port would be one of many PlayStation exclusive games coming to the platform. Following the release of Marvel’s Spider-Man, God of War and Ghost of Tsushima, PlayStation is planning to bring even more of its exclusive library to PC gamers.
Of course, not all PlayStation exclusives are planned to come to PC. Despite years of fan campaigns and begging from fans, From Software’s Bloodborne still doesn’t appear to be coming to PC anytime soon. We can dream, though.
