Everyone’s most-hated entertainment company Warner Bros is continuing its trend of wiping projects from existence. Alongside the huge shut down of internet entertainment company Rooster Teeth, the studio is killing Adult Swim Games and delisting its existing content.
One such game is the adorable indie game Small Radios Big Televisions. Released in November 2016 for PlayStation 4 and PC, the game was made by just one developer - Owen Deery - and published by Adult Swim. However, with the destruction of the gaming publisher, WB is delisting the indie game in the coming weeks.
In a heroic move, Deery told fans that the game can now be downloaded on PC for free prior to its delisting. Anyone who wants to play the game will be able to download it right here.
“WarnerBros Discovery have informed me they will be ‘retiring’ my game Small Radios Big Televisions from both Steam and PS4 stores”, the indie dev told fans. “I’ve made it free to download. Thanks for all your support.”
Deery told followers that the decision to delist the game is due to “business changes” at Warner Bros. The game will be pulled from sale in the “next few weeks”, but the developer will still receive royalties for any purchase made before its removal.
For those who have already purchased the game on Steam, Valve‘s policies dictate that you’ll still be able to download the game. On PlayStation, the rules are more flexible with games like P.T. being removed from libraries at the behest of the publisher.
With a free version of the game to download on PC, Small Radios Big Televisions won’t die, but it will become abandonware. Deery also informed fans that they get extra revenue from sales of the game’s soundtrack which can be purchased here.
Warner Bros. Discovery has become extremely popular over its decisions to kill content in favour of tax write-offs. Finished films like Acme vs Coyote have been completely scrapped despite highly positive feedback, and there’s no plan to release them.
On the video game side, the huge success of Hogwarts Legacy and the massive flop of Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League has taught the company nothing as it doubles down on live service games. At least MultiVersus is making a return?
