Activision has officially announced a date for the hotly-anticipated release of Warzone Mobile.
Call of Duty's battle royale has become a mainstay of the franchise following its 2020 launch and with the PC and console version of the game continuing to prove popular, players can finally take action on the go.
Following a limited regional rollout, Activision has revealed Warzone Mobile drops onto Android and iOS on March 21, 2024. In addition to the standard battle royale modes, a small slice of multiplayer is also on its way, giving players an alternative method to rank up their weapon arsenal as fast as possible.
On February 28, 2024, the Warzone Mobile X account uploaded the first official trailer for the mobile battle royale much to the excitement of players looking forward to dropping into the action.
Along with the release date, the minute-long trailer confirms the return of the iconic Verdansk map which first appeared when the game made its debut in March 2020.
As expected, players were quick to share their excitement surrounding Verdansk's return and the prospect of another way to get their Warzone fix. One fan says: "[Warzone Mobile will be] the biggest mobile FPS ever." Another adds: "God I am so ready for this game."
While many are excited about Warzone Mobile finally launching, others are already worried about the possibility of hackers ruining the fun for everyone landing in Verdansk for a trip down memory lane. "This is gonna have mobile hacker watch," one player jokes.
When it comes to Call of Duty on mobile devices, COD Mobile continues to set the bar with an extensive multiplayer offering packed with all the best content from previous releases. With Verdansk already back, is there a possibility of Warzone Mobile following a similar path? We'll have to wait and see.
For now, Warzone Mobile has plenty of potential to score a victory in the hugely competitive mobile gaming market. Hopefully cheaters don't ruin the fun upon launch.
