After many weeks of being quiet about the upcoming Switch 2, Nintendo finally broke their silence and announced their latest console in the most unexpected way.

While people were waiting for official details about the Switch 2, Nintendo announced that it would release a new Game Boy (again), and this time around, it'll be a collaboration with famous toy company LEGO.

Fans were really looking forward to the official announcement of the Switch 2, but instead, they were met with a collaboration announcement. The LEGO Game Boy will be available in October 2025, just a few months away from the alleged Pokemon Legends: Z-A release date.

While the LEGO Game Boy isn't a console that many fans expect, it won't probably play any Game Boy games, just like the LEGO NES. However, some fans are positive that modders will save the day and make a fully functional Game Boy out of LEGO days after the product releases.

The product targets LEGO enthusiasts who are also fans of Nintendo's consoles. Nintendo fans who love the consoles and games but aren't keen on building LEGO pieces will have to wait for the imminent announcement of the Switch 2.

Some were happy that Nintendo at least made an announcement, but the majority of the comments on the X post are looking for the official Switch 2 update.

Leaks around the Nintendo console have been circulating online over the past few weeks, with the most recent ones talking about how SKUs for Nintendo Switch 2 accessories are now registered at a GameStop store.

Switch 2 mock-ups were also showcased during CES 2025, where games accessories manufacturer Genki confirmed that the Switch 2 will arrive in April 2025.

Nintendo hasn't responded to any of these rumors and speculations, which convinced more fans that the mock-ups could be the official look of the Nintendo Switch 2.
