One of the next BIG events in Pokemon GO is the Kanto Throwback Challenge 2020!
Trainers will engage in lengthy special research quest line celebrating the iconic moments from Kanto. The Throwback Challenges will also include Johto, Hoenn and Sinnoh regions at a later date.
Data miners had already cracked the code on the first 9 quests and that has now been confirmed as they roll out early.

Kanto Throwback Challenge 2020 Dates And Schedule
The official announcement for the challenge has now gone live and the dates have been confirmed for the 1st May until the 8th May.

Kanto Bonuses
You can look forward to the following features and bonuses.
- Pokémon originally discovered in the Kanto region, such as Venonat and Chansey, will be appearing more frequently in the wild.
- Pokémon originally discovered in the Kanto region will also be available to battle in raids.
- The following Pokémon will be hatching from 7 km Eggs: Venonat, Machop, Onix, Lickitung, Tangela, Scyther, Pinsir, Lapras, and Eevee.
- Pikachu wearing Charizard hats will be appearing in the wild!
- Increased Shiny Venonat spawns
- Event-exclusive Field Research tasks will reward encounters with Pokémon originally discovered in the Kanto region.
- 2× Catch XP, 2× Raid XP, and 2× Hatch XP bonuses will be active.

In total, there are 36 quests to complete during the Throwback Challenge, 9 per region and each will reward you for your efforts.
