Asta is an integral part of the key Honkai Star Rail cast, but that doesn't mean she'll shine without the very best Honkai Star Rail Asta build. Commanding the Herta Space Station prior to your arrival, she joins your side in combat and offers tons of offensive buffs for your squad. Her kit revolves around increasing attack speed for the entire party, and she also has a large attack buff.
As a DPS she is not as strong as a dedicated damage dealer, but she can definitely hold her own in combat. When building Asta, you want to optimise her Fire damage and effect hit rate to make her a potent sub-DPS.

How to get Asta in Honkai Star Rail
Asta, a four-star unit, can be obtained for free through the Warp Tutorial banner. After that, she's available in any banner.
The best Honkai Star Rail Asta build
The following build is for Asta. You can find more Honkai Star Rail builds on our dedicated hub page.
Asta is designed to work well with other Fire damage dealers, and you want to build your team around the Fire element. She has an excellent signature Light Cone and there are multiple relics to choose from to boost her damage and support capabilities even further.
Best Light Cone for Asta
The Planetary Rendezvous is a must-have Light Cone for Asta. If you are building a mono-Fire team, you should try your luck in the Light Cone banner and try to get at least one copy of it.
All allies need to be of the same damage type as Asta (Fire) to activate its passive which gives you a massive 12% damage bonus. If you do not want to build a mono-Fire team, But the Battle Isn’t Over is your best bet.
Planetary Rendezvous
When all allies deal the same DMG Type as the wearer, DMG dealt is increased by 12%.
But the Battle Isn’t Over
Increases the wearer’s Energy Regeneration Rate by 8/10/12/14/16% and regenerates one Skill Point when the wearer uses their Ultimate on an ally. This effect can be triggered after every two uses of the wearer’s Ultimate. When the wearer uses their Skill, the next ally taking action deals 30% more damage for one turn.
Best relics for Asta
Asta has three solid relic sets to choose from. You can go for the Firesmith of Lava-Forging set, which boosts her Fire damage, or you can go for Sprightly Vonwacq, which improves her energy regeneration. Asta has survivability issues due to her low HP pool and if you have trouble keeping her alive, you can go for Fleet of the Ageless.
Firesmith of Lava-Forging
- 2-Piece Bonus: Increases Fire DMG by 10%.
- 4-Piece Bonus: Increases the wearer's Skill DMG by 12%. After unleashing Ultimate, increases the wearer's Fire DMG by 12% for the next attack.
Sprightly Vonwacq
- 2-Piece Bonus: Increases the wearer's Energy Regeneration Rate by 5%. When the wearer's SPD reaches 145 or higher, the wearer's action is Advanced Forward by 50% immediately upon entering battle.
Fleet of the Ageless
- 2-Piece Bonus: Increases the wearer's Max HP by 12%. When the wearer's SPD reaches 120 or higher, all allies' ATK increases by 8%.
What are Asta’s abilities?
Asta is one of the squishiest characters in the game and keeping her alive can be a chore. We recommend ascending her all the way up to level 80+ as quickly as possible to unlock her Trace 3, which boosts her Defense. Her Trace 2 is also very powerful as it boosts your entire party’s Fire damage.
Skill | Description |
---|---|
Basic Attack | Deals Fire DMG equal to 50% of Asta's ATK to a single enemy. |
Skill | Deals Fire DMG equal to 25% of Asta's ATK to a single enemy with 4 more bombardments. Each bombardment deals Fire DMG equal to 25% of Asta's ATK to a random enemy. |
Ultimate | Increases SPD of all allies by 36 for 2 turn(s). |
Talent | Gains a Charging stack for every different enemy hit by Asta plus an additional stack if the enemy has Fire Weakness. For every Charging stack Asta has, all allies' ATK increases by 5%, up to 5 time(s). Starting from her second turn, Asta's Charging stack count is reduced by 3 at the beginning of every turn. |
Technique | Immediately attacks the enemy. After entering battle, deals Fire DMG equal to 50% of Asta's ATK to all enemies. |
Trace 1 | Asta's Basic ATK has a 80% base chance to Burn enemies for 3 turn(s), making the enemy take Fire DoT equal to 30% of Asta's Basic ATK DMG at the start of each turn. |
Trace 2 | When Asta is on the field, all allies' Fire DMG increases by 8%. |
Trace 3 | Asta's DEF increases by 6% for every current Charging stack she possesses. |
What are Asta’s Eidolons?
Eidolon Level | Effect |
---|---|
Level 1 | Asta's Skill will deal DMG 1 additional time to the target enemy. |
Level 2 | After using her Ultimate, Asta's Charging stacks will not be reduced in the next turn. |
Level 3 | Skill Lv. +2, up to a maximum of Lv. 15. Talent ATK Lv. +2, up to a maximum of Lv. 15. |
Level 4 | Asta's Energy Regeneration Rate increases by 15% when she has 2 or more Charging stacks. |
Level 5 | Ultimate Lv. +2, up to a maximum of Lv. 15. Basic ATK Lv. +1, up to a maximum of Lv. 10. |
Level 6 | Asta loses 1 less Charging stack(s) every turn. |
Most Eidolons for Asta are not very impactful, but if you manage to get her sixth and final Eidolon, she becomes a lot more convenient to use. With her losing one less charging stack each turn, her abilities and damage output are a lot more consistent. You do not need to actively go after Eidolons for Asta, as she is a four-star character and you will keep getting copies of her when she is featured in future banners.
