If you don't have Luocha or Bailu, then fear not. Huohuo is an excellent Path of Abundance character that can heal your party consistently. We take a look at our Honkai Star Rail HuoHuo build to help you take advantage of her energy regeneration and healing skills, and ensure you have maximum uptime for her burst.
With Honkai Star Rail being a turn-based game, you are almost guaranteed to take damage unless you have 100% shield uptime from a Preservation character, which is very difficult to achieve. A healer is mandatory and Huohuo being capable of healing, energy regeneration, and “Fear” debuff, makes her an all-around support.
Unfortunately, we do not have an official release date for Huohuo yet so if you do not have a 5-star healer, we recommend checking out our Lynx build and Natasha build. They can fit into a healing role just fine but are not as impressive as their 5-star counterparts.
The best Huohuo build in Honkai Star Rail (August 2023)
To maximize Huohuo’s build, you want to stack as much HP as possible on Huohuo. You do not need to build for ATK%, Crit Rate, or Crit Damage and can focus solely on a support-oriented build. Speed, Energy Regeneration and HP are the three things we will focus on in our build.
Best light cone for Huohuo
When it comes to Abundance light cones, there are some fantastic options. You do not have to go for high-rarity light cones as the 3-star and 4-star options perform adequately well. Post-op Conversation is very easy to get and we recommend using it if you have access to at least one copy of it. Refinements on the light cone boost not only the amount of healing you get out of it but also the rate at which your Ultimate comes back online.
Post-op Conversation: Increases Energy Restoration of its wearer by 12%. Increases Outgoing Healing of Ultimate by 20%.
Light Waits for No One: Increases the wearer's Max HP by 12.0% and Outgoing Healing by 12.0%. When the wearer heals allies, record the amount of Outgoing Healing. When any ally launches an attack, a random attacked enemy takes an additional DMG equal to 50.0% of the recorded Outgoing Healing value. This additional DMG is of the same Type as the wearer's, is not affected by other buffs, and can only occur 1 time per turn.
Warm Nights Won’t Last: Increases the wearer's Max HP by 20%. When using Basic ATK or Skill, restores all allies' HP by an amount equal to 2% of their respective Max HP.
Cornucopia: Increases Outgoing Healing of its wearer by 16%
Best relics for Huohuo
The best relic set for Huohuo is undoubtedly the Passerby of Wandering Cloud. You want to use an Energy Regeneration Rope and SPD boots. Doing so might reduce the raw healing you get from her abilities but having high SPD means that you will be able to get more actions while Energy Regeneration will boost your Ultimate uptime. 134 Speed is a great breakpoint if you want to get more action than your enemies without sacrificing too much healing.
Regarding Planar Ornaments, Fleet of the Ageless is the way to go thanks to the 12% Max HP Bonus. It also gives all allies a small 8% ATK bonus if you manage to cross the 120 SPD mark.
Passerby of Wandering Cloud
- 2-Piece Bonus: Increases Outgoing Healing by 10%.
- 4-Piece Bonus: At the beginning of the battle, immediately recovers 1 Skill Point.
Musketeer of Wild Wheat
- 2-Piece Bonus: ATK increases by 10%.
- 4-Piece Bonus: The wearer's SPD increases by 6% and Basic ATK DMG increases by 10%.
Fleet of the Ageless
- 2-Piece Bonus: Increases the wearer's Max HP by 12%. When the wearer's SPD reaches 120 or higher, all allies' ATK increases by 8%.
What are Huohuo’s abilities?
You will rarely use Huohuo’s Basic Attack so it is best left ignored. The Traces that really bolster her role as a support are her Skill, Ultimate, Talent, and Technique. Her Technique is very interesting as it gives enemies an ATK decrease, which reduces the amount of healing needed. The talent gets even better if you have a Preservation character in your team because your shields will end up taking less damage.

What are Huohuo’s Eidolons?
Information about Huohuo’s Eidolons is not yet available. Her kit was leaked recently her game files do not have any Eidolon details yet. It is possible that she is still early in development and it might be a while until we get a proper look at her Eidolons. Going by the multipliers on her kit, her healing is already great and it does not make much sense to go for Eidolons unless you like the character. You're better off spending your Stellar Jade to diversify your roster and get more units instead.
