Equip the Amulet Coin
The Amulet Coin is a valuable item in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl that a Pokémon can hold. When held by a Pokémon, provided they fight in battle, your prize money from successfully winning the battle will double!
To get the Amulet Coin, you must head to Amity Square and take one of your cute Pokémon for a walk. Then, at a northern point in the gardens, you'll encounter big ruins made from rock. Search these for loot, and one of them will contain the Amulet Coin.
Equip Luck Incense
Much like the Amulet Coin, having a Pokémon equip Luck Incense in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl also wields great reward. Similarly, the item will reap in double the amount of prize money when you win a battle, provided that the Pokémon with the Luck Incense equipped fights.
To get your hands on a jar of Luck Incense, you will need the Rock Smash and Surf Hidden Moves unlocked first. Then, you can enter Route 204 and go into the cave known as 'Ravaged Path'. There's plenty of loot in here, one of them being Luck Incense!
It should also be noted that the effect of only one item — either Amulet Coin or Luck Incense — can be active at any given time. So, essentially, you only require one of the two. However, it's worth venturing to get both, so you can battle any Pokémon Trainers along the way for money.
Battle for Money
This is obvious, but the more Pokémon Trainers you battle with in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, the more money you will make. Gym battles have a particularly high reward, and we talk about how to face them all here, and we have a type-chart to help with countering each Pokémon. Once you've defeated a Gym leader, you can also go back for a rematch and earn even more money; please note, though, they will be much tougher to beat the second time around!
There are a few Pokémon Trainers around Sinnoh that seem to have wads of cash. Two of them being the following:
- Elderly couple along Route 212, south of Hearthome City and beside the Pokémon Mansion
- Young couple in the Lost Tower on Route 209, south of Solaceon Town
Both couples will each give you an excess of $16,000 Pokédollars for beating them!
