As any player of Pokémon will know by now, Pokémon all evolve in different ways and by different means. This applies even more to Pokémon Legends: Arceus, where some new Pokémon must perform moves or take damage in battle in order to evolve, like Basculin.
Typically, most 'mons will need to reach a certain level, learn a move, or possess a specific evolutionary item in order to evolve. For Sneasel - who's evolution, Sneasler, is also a fun, rideable Pokémon - players will need the Razor Claw item to evolve them. This item, like the Black Augurite needed to evolve Scizor into Kleavor, isn't necessarily easy to acquire.
Where can you find a Razor Claw in Hisui? In this guide, we explain where to get a Razor Claw in Pokémon Legends: Arceus.
How to Get Razor Claw in Pokémon Legends: Arceus
The easiest way to directly purchase a Razor Claw is from the Trading Post using Merit Points. Merit Points are accrued for collecting and returning lost Satchels while playing online, but these can take a while to gather. The Razor Claw itself costs 1400 Merit Points.
Sometimes, Ginter of Gingko Guild may be selling the Razor Claw. What the merchant sells, however, is quite random. He'll alternate items each day, both during day and night. The Razor Claw itself is named the 'Mystery Claw' when sold by Ginter, and will cost 10,000 Pokédollars.
Last but not least, one of the most unreliable (but free) ways to acquire a Razor Claw is through random drops. Whether this be from gathering resources or battling and catching Pokémon. Sneasels are specifically renowned for having a chance of holding the item, so get battling with them when you get the chance! They can be found prowling Coronet Highlands and Alabaster Icelands.
Once you've got a Razor Claw, the item can be used during the day to evolve Sneasel into Sneasler. If you're lucky enough to have caught a Johto Sneasel, they can be evolved using the Razor Claw at night to become Weavile.
