Pokemon Sword and Shield have been out in the wild for some time now and players have had the chance to play through the game and become the Galar Region champion. Some trainers are hoping to complete their Pokedex along the way and may have stumbled when it came to catching the four new fossil Pokemon.
These new fossil Pokemon are a mix of certain stones found in the region and can be combined to produce some of the coolest typings in the game. So where are the fossils and what combinations work? Let's find out!

Locations of Fossils
There are four different types of fossils in Pokemon Sword and Shield; Dino, Bird, Drake, and Fish. One thing to note is that Bird and Dino fossils are easily found in Pokemon Shield and the Fish and Drake fossils are easier to obtain in Sword.
Players will be able to find an easier set of stones near the professor on Route 6, you will notice glowing ground right before you walk up to the NPC. The other set of stones can be found at the NPC in the Pokemon Center in the Stow-In-Side city. However, there is a mini-game in the Bridge Field area of the Wild Area where players can dig up all fossils!

Combinations
Unlike previous Pokemon titles, each fossil cannot be individually extracted to create a Pokemon. This time around you will have to mix two of the stones together to form a Pokemon, they will all have dual typings and are rather unique in their own way. Below is the full list of combinations and their final outcome.
- Fossilized Bird + Fossilized Drake = Dracozolt (electric/dragon)
- Fossilized Bird + Fossilized Dino = Arctozolt (electric/ice)
- Fossilized Fish + Fossilized Drake = Dracovish (water/dragon)
- Fossilized Fish + Fossilized Dino = Arctovish (water/ice)
