Grunt and Breacher Archæan enemies entering a subzone in Rainbow Six Extraction.

In Rainbow Six Extraction, there's quite the vast array of weapons, most of which are associated with and tied to a specific Operator. Additionally, for those who have played Siege, knowing which weapons are good is that little bit easier considering most weapons in Extraction also appear in Siege. Regardless, knowing which weapon to go with when first facing the Chimera parasite can be daunting, so that's where we've stepped in to help.

In no particular order, here are eight of the best weapons to use in Rainbow Six Extraction.

TYPE-89

The Type-89 can be used by Operator HIBANA from Level 1 in Rainbow Six Extraction. The classic assault rifle has medium stopping power and is a relatively reliable weapon from an early stage in the game.

With a speedy fire rate and the ability to deal a high amount of damage, the Type-89 can be useful in tricky situations. However, the low magazine size means that it can be easy to get carried away and run out of ammo, forcing you into another tricky situation and a possible early extraction.

MP7

The MP7 can be used by Operator JÄGER once they have reached Level 3, or Operator IQ once they reach Level 6 in Rainbow Six Extraction. It's a close to mid-range submachine gun with high penetration, and can be rather nifty earlier on in the game.

A high fire rate and limited recoil makes the SMG reliable and fun, as you pull off several kills in a matter of moments using it. The MP7 is great for those who love to constantly be on the attack, but it can be difficult to control during long bursts of fire. For a player who can handle this, however, the MP7 could easily become your favourite SMG.

SMG-11

The SMG-11 can be used by Operator SLEDGE once they have reached Level 3 in Rainbow Six Extraction. The secondary weapon is a small-sized machine gun that packs a punch with its high rate of fire.

Players using the SMG-11 need to remain cautious of it's smaller magazine size. Provided that they can prevent themselves from being too trigger happy with the weapon, they'll find that the rate of fire, damage, and decent recoil will help them land some impressive kills.

M762

The M762 can be used by Operator Ela once they have reached Level 9 in Rainbow Six Extraction. The weapon is a medium-range AR with custom shoulder stock, hand guard, and a flat upper rail.

While the M762 requires you to play a lot of Ela to get your hands on, it's certainly worth it. The gun deals a great amount of damage to enemies, with an impressive fire rate and recoil that is relatively easy to control. With all of these packed into one weapon, users of the M762 are likely to kill off the most Archæans during any mission.

416-C CARBINE

The 416-C Carbine can be used by Operator JÄGER once they have reached Level 6 in Rainbow Six Extraction. The weapon is a medium-range assault rifle with a high rate of fire, but also a high recoil.

The 416-C Carbine was once notorious for quite literally having no recoil whatsoever, feeling like a laser of a weapon in the hands of most players. This was ultimately nerfed, and now the weapon has a higher recoil. Yet, despite this, the gun still remains one of the best, with great damage, provided you can control the recoil.

ALDA 5.56

The ALDA 5.56 can be used by Operator Alibi once they have reached Level 9 in Rainbow Six Extraction. The weapon is a belt-fed, 5.56 light support that uses a specialised 80-round box, and is notably one of the best LMG's to use.

The LMG has a fantastic fire rate and a sizeable magazine, making it great for those who love to fire away at their enemies, if they control the recoil. That being said, controlling the recoil of the ALDA 5.56 shouldn't be too difficult for the majority of players. Therefore, the weapon is great for players of all skill and can be fantastic for clearing a Containment Zone of Archæans quickly.

MP5

The MP5 can be used by Operator DOC once they have reached Level 6, or Operator ROOK from Level 3, in Rainbow Six Extraction. The weapon is a short to medium-range submachine gun, with a high rate of fire and good mobility.

The MP5 can thankfully be accessed from ROOK early on in the game, and is great for players who prefer close-range gunfights or need an option to protect them well when stealth fails them. The rate of fire and ease of control makes the weapon rather reliable at any level.

9x19VSN

The 9x19VSN can be used by Operator FINKA once they have reached Level 9 in Rainbow Six Extraction. The weapon is a close to mid-range submachine gun with high penetration.

The SMG, in the right hands, can be capable of causing a ridiculous amount of destruction to both enemies and the environment. The 9x19VSN has high stability, and due to being able to keep the majority (if not all) shots on target, a lot of damage can be inflicted quickly when necessary. For a healing Operator like FINKA, this can be vital for getting past Archæans and to teammates in need of help quickly.
