The Galaxy A53 is expected to be the latest release for Samsung's affordable line of smartphones and it looks like it could be one of their best budget phones to date.
We have already seen several exciting announcements from Samsung this year with the upcoming Galaxy S22 and Odyssey Neo G8 gaming monitor, but what about the Galaxy A53?
We've rounded up everything we know so far about Samsung's upcoming A-series phone.
Does The Samsung Galaxy A53 Have A Release Date?
There is currently no confirmed release date for the Samsung Galaxy A53.
However, if we look at Samsung's previous release history for their Galaxy A-line, it is possible we could see the A53 heading our way sometime this Spring.
The previous, Galaxy A52 was released in March 2021, following on from the release of Samsung's Flagship Galaxy S model.
The Samsung Galaxy S22 was announced on 9 February and is releasing on 25 February, so it is likely the Galaxy A53 will arrive sometime after this.
Of course, this is just speculation and we won't know for sure until Samsung announce an official release date.
Samsung Galaxy A53 Rumoured Price
The official pricing of the Samsung Galaxy has not yet been confirmed, however, we can get a good idea of how much it might cost from looking at previous models.
The Samsung Galaxy A line has had fairly consistent pricing over the past couple of years with the Galaxy A52 starting at £349/$449 and the Galaxy A51 coming in at £329 / $399.
We can therefore estimate that the Galaxy A53 will feature a similar starting price, although we won't know for sure until Samsung has announced the official pricing.
Samsung Galaxy A53 Rumoured Specs
While the Galaxy A53 specifications have not been officially revealed by Samsung, there are several rumours and leaks of what we can expect to see.
According to articles from gsmarena and Pocket-lint, the specifications we could see on the upcoming Galaxy A53 are as follows.
The Galaxy A53 is rumoured to feature a 6.5-inch AMOLED display, with a 1080 x 2400 pixels resolution and a rapid 120Hz refresh rate.
It has also been suggested that the upcoming Galaxy A53 could feature both HDR10+ capabilities and up to 800 nits of peak brightness.
This should mean that the display should look seriously impressive and even enable you to experience fast, fluid gameplay thanks to the high refresh rate.
Under the hood, the new phone is rumoured to feature the Exynos 1200 chipset and up to 12GB of RAM.
Reportedly, there has even been a suggestion that the upcoming A-series phone could feature a MediaTek Dimensity 9000 chipset.
However, this seems unlikely given that the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 competes with the likes of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset found in Samsung's latest flagship Galaxy S22.
For the battery, the Galaxy A53 is rumoured to feature a 5,000mAh power bank, which would be an upgrade on the Galaxy A52's 4,500mAh battery.
When it comes to the camera, the Galaxy A53 is said to include 64MP wide, 12MP ultrawide, 5MP macro and 5MP depth lenses.
If this is accurate, this is the same camera specifications as can be found on the current Galaxy A52 model and should allow for high-quality photography as well as filming in 4K.
Of course, we'll have to wait until Samsung has released the official specifications to know whether these are accurate.
We'll be sure to update you as soon as the upcoming specs have been confirmed so be sure to check back in with us.
