Logitech MX Master 4 Release Date Predictions

While there’s no official release date for the Logitech MX Master 4, we can make an educated guess based on previous trends. The MX Master 2 was launched in 2017, followed by the MX Master 3 in September 2019. Considering this pattern, the MX Master 4 is overdue for a release.

The unique challenges of 2021, including the surge in remote work, likely fueled the popularity of the MX Master 3, which may have delayed the launch of a new model. Logitech might have found it more strategic to ride the success of the MX Master 3 rather than introduce its successor too soon. But again, we’re speculating.

So, when can we expect the MX Master 4? With no official announcements or even hints from Logitech, predicting the release date is tricky. It’s clear that the MX Master 4 isn’t following the same timeline as its predecessors. However, based on past release patterns, some speculate it could hit the market before the end of 2024, with one source suggesting a September 2024 launch.

Unfortunately, however, September has passed, and we are none the wiser regarding the release of the MX Master 4. We will all just have to stay tuned for future announcements from Logitech and hope for a release before the end of the year. Of course, we will keep this guide updated as soon as we spot any further news.

Logitech MX Master 4 specs predictions

So we don't know the features just yet, obviously, but based on the improvements from the MX Master 2 to the MX Master 3 we'd imagine that we'll get an even better wheel, more button mapping options, different colorways, and a new design that remains highly ergonomic.

The MX Master 3 ticks all the boxes, so it's hard to see exactly what they'd improve on from a technical perspective. Perhaps it will be more of a superficial change, which we'd be excited for regardless.

Logitech MX Master 4 price predictions

So this is the big one, what price tag are we looking at? Well, the Logitech MX Master 3 is currently priced around $120 and often sees discounts during sales.

Our prediction? Expect the upcoming Logitech MX Master 4 to land between $130 and $150 when it hits the market, based on the trend set by its predecessor. Don't take this as official, though, as it's only speculation at this stage.

So should you wait for it?

If you're looking to upgrade your current setup, we highly recommend going with the Logitech MX Master 3, and here's why.

First, we anticipate that the MX Master 4 will mainly feature aesthetic changes without significant functional improvements. While the design shift from the MX Master 2 to the MX Master 3 was substantial, the MX Master 3 remains a top performer even today.

Additionally, the MX Master 3 often goes on sale, especially during Black Friday and Prime Day. That's a great deal for a device that can dramatically enhance your daily workflow.

While our opinion may evolve once the MX Master 4 is revealed, for now, the MX Master 3, with its ultrafast scrolling, 4000 DPI tracking on any surface, and seven customizable buttons, is an excellent choice that won't disappoint.
