The Witcher 3 has a truly dedicated community, from mods allowing Geralt to turn into Harry Potter to questionable Witcher-themed sex dolls.
Well, the modding scene has taken a bit more of a chill direction this time around. Have you ever ridden Roach, Geralt's trusty steed, and wished she'd just trundle on a bit faster through The Continent? Ever entered a city and had to slow down to a crawl, or suddenly stop at the sight of a tiny pebble?
Well, not to worry. Modders are here to help.
Roach Is a Complete Machine Now
Thanks to modder Daddodidda, all the limits your horse had are gone forever. The catchily-named "Allow Roach to gallop in cities and not stop for obstacles" mod is an absolute godsend for those of us who have played The Witcher 3 and got frustrated by Roach's complete inability to go where you want her to.
It combines the "Roach Never Stops" and "Galloping in Cities" mods into a handy package, giving you the power of unrealistic video game horses whenever you want. Just look at this wild beast trampling through the city without a care in the world! The citizens of Novigrad won't know what hit them.
Of course, this isn't necessarily a change you'll want to make for the first time you play through The Witcher 3. The mod creator says it best: "Roach will be a bit overpowered since you can literally jump off any height and not take fall damage."
For experienced players, the lack of realism is a fair trade-off, though. "I don't really see that as a problem, just don't run off a cliff and you won't be bothered by it. The positive is that you will get where you want to go faster and not want to pull out your hair from all the annoying stops that Roach always does."
