The Witcher’s Gwent Reportedly Getting a Standalone Game This Year

The Witcher’s addictive card game, Gwent, is reportedly getting its own standalone single-player sequel soon. Allegedly different from CD Projekt Red's previous The Witcher Tales: Thronebreaker, that's believed to be codenamed Project Golden Nekker.

As reported by IGN, they claim this standalone follow-up to Gwent is completely different from previous titles. Furthermore, this report also claims Project Golden Nekker is aiming for a 2022 launch.

Speaking about this further, Pawel Burza, comms lead for Gwent, had this to say about Project Golden Nekker:

“It’s not another Witcher Tales [game] but something different. We’re aiming to provide a captivating single-player for players who prefer it over competitive multiplayer Gwent.”

It'll be interesting to see just how this standalone single-player game holds up. Meanwhile, fans that want some single-player action can play that through The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
