Bloody battle-royale Bloodhunt is now out - for free - and is the perfect chance to get some supernatural shenanigans in. Here’s how to play Vampire The Masquerade Bloodhunt with friends.
Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodhunt is a new taste for the mystical series, as the battle royale aspect is something previously unseen in the many entries to the franchise. Though the game is aimed at lots of players joining at once, it can be tricky to figure out how to add and play with friends, or how to form teams. We’ll run through how to do this, and whether the game is cross-platform.
Wanna get more into the Bloodhunt scene and improve your play? We have a tier list for that so you can choose who to play as, and how to get Tokens in the game. Or there’s Swansong if you want some vampires without the battle royale.
How To Add Friends In Vampire The Masquerade Bloodhunt
Adding friends in Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodhunt is quite easy. You’ll need to be in the lobby of the game to do it. Open up the menu, and then find the Social tab on the right. This will show friends who have a Sharkmob account and who have played/are playing Bloodhunt, as well as any invites. To play online and add friends, you will need a Sharkmob account on top of your Steam or PlayStation profiles.
To add new friends, you can search for them via the Find Friend button. You’ll need their Sharkmob ID, which is the username.
Is Vampire The Masquerade Bloodhunt Cross-Platform?
Bloodhunt is, technically, cross platform. However, there are a couple of hiccups as the game has launched.
Right now, the game is available on PlayStation and PC through Steam. Players can join games with players on the other platform, but anyone wanting to team up and become a squad needs to be on the same platform. So if you’re on Steam, you’ll need to convince all of your friends to get the Steam version too.
For now, adding players on the other platform to you via their Sharkmob ID doesn’t do anything. Sharkmob has confirmed on their own website how the crossplay works; according to the official Bloodhunt site, the lobby - Elysium - is ‘platform-specific’. You can’t group up with players before the game, but you can be pitted against them in the matches.
We’re not sure if they will change this, and make crossplay usable. Regardless, keeping crossplay enabled can shorten the matchmaking time before games.

The Social menu also serves as the invite page for getting friends into your party - particularly for the three-player teams mode. It’s really easy to do: click a friend, and click invite.
