While we've heard plenty of rumours about the new Pokemon Diamond and Pearl remakes, it sounds as though a new Let's Go game is also on its way.
Still, with those remakes on the way, we could be waiting a while.

What Is Pokemon Let's Go 2?
Pokemon Let's Go 2 is apparently dubbed Let's Go Catching, according to Dark Ho-Oh.
Pokémon Let’s Go Catching will be announced soon :). #pokemon#leaks#pokemonday#nintendoswitch#nintendo

While that's all we know so far, we'd expect it to follow the template set by Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu and Let's Go Eevee, two remakes of the first generation of Pokemon.
These remakes dropped random battles, though, replacing them with a motion-controlled catching mechanic using the Switch's Joy-Cons.
While that particularly remake was based entirely in Kanto, could Let's Go Catching take us to another region?
Release Date
We don't yet have official confirmation on a release date, but we do expect to hear something this week.
Platforms
The game will almost certainly release on the Nintendo Switch exclusively once again, as did Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu And Eevee.
Trailer & Gameplay
There is currently no trailer or gameplay for Let's Go 2, but it's still worth watching the trailer for Let's Go Pikachu and Eevee again.
What If It's Johto Based?
Starter Pokemon
The three starter Pokemon in Johto were:
- Totodile (Water)
- Cyndaquil (Fire)
- Chikorita (Grass)
These three Pokemon featured heavily in the anime series and although not the best, are certainly some of the most fun Pokemon in the franchise.
Totodile, the big jaw Pokemon, evolves into Crockonaw and finally Feraligatr.
The strongest starter Pokemon has the ability 'Sheer Force', meaning it raises the base power of all damaging moves that have any additional effects by 30%, but their additional effects are ignored.
Cyndaquil, the fire mouse Pokemon, evolves into Quilava and finally Typhlosion.
This Pokemon can learn a variety of moves including Solar Beam, as well as having the ability 'Flash Fire', which makes it immune to Fire-type moves. When activated, Fire-type moves are also increased by 50%.
Chikorita evolves into Bayleef before evolving into its final evolution Meganium.
This Pokemon features the ability 'Leaf Guard', during harsh sunlight, Leaf Guard prevents the Pokémon from being afflicted by non-volatile status conditions and Yawn.
Legendary Pokemon
Pokemon Gold and Silver featured the following legendary Pokemon:
- Ho-oh
- Lugia
- Raikou
- Entei
- Suicune
The game also featured the Kanto region, so it does also feature the following legendaries:
- Mew
- Mewtwo
- Zapdos
- Articuno
- Moltres
Changes & Differences
So far, we don't know any official changes and differences, but we can assume that there will be a number of changes.
The graphics are the first point for change, but it's unlikely they will change massively and will likely use the same engine as Let's Go Pikachu and Eevee.
Mega evolutions may make an appearance, as we saw it was introduced in the newest Pokemon Lets Go, Pikachu and Eevee.
If Mega evolutions do not appear, Dynamaxing Pokemon may return to help promote Sword and Shield; although it is unlikely as it is meant to be specific to the Galar region.
It's unlikely any Pokemon game that releases now will include the National Pokedex, as it will need to function with Pokemon Home, but it would be great to see it included.
A new feature that appeared in the last game is auto-saving, which will also likely return.
